We are pleased to invite you to the third seminar of the CoPALC Franco-Brazilian Chair, which will host Sophie Fuggle, professor of French Studies at Nottingham Trent University, this Thursday, May 20 at pm in Paris, 2pm in Brazil. The broadcast will be made on the CoPALC YouTube channel.
This Webinar will aim to relate literature and prison not through the traditional prism of « prison literature », « testimony literature » or “activist writing”, but through a socio-history of reading in prison. Penitentiary administrations, both in the colonies and in France, have created libraries within their walls. What are the reasons, uses and scope in the prison world?
We also remember that the workshop by Arnaud Houte and Mathieu Marly, will be held on Thursday, May 27, contrary to what is indicated in the initial program.
We look forward to seeing many of you and look forward to the next days of discussion.
